what are those models for?
Did you already searched at google?
If my memory isn't wrong a volume morph program of the univerity of stanford used files with a similiar file extension, but those where build out of curves than of vertices and where not editable in any editor I know. But I don't think your files are the same, cuz those where really heavy.
oh ok then i try with model viewer it opens them but dont show them just a black screen Also, if they are for a game, especially a mod-able game, look in the modders faq or the forums at the games homepage.
